it's a very good book that is sophisticated in its themes ... I think it's a great companion piece to Foundation
has one of the best endings of any book ever ... it's a novel that grapples with a religious concept ... nobody could write like blish
again perfectly serviceable fine I can't Point anything wrong with this one it's short it was written as a juvenile ... it's a classic of high fantasy I just it's fine
a deceptively sophisticated children's story and you read that and you read modern Y.A and you wonder you simply Wonder
it's a collection of short stories some of them are really good the title story was really good ... there was a lot of filler though so highs and lows it was overall fine
I think the book is a little bit better -ish there are moments in the book that are really great thought it was a little bit incomplete ... didn't love it as much as a lot of people but definitely didn't dislike it definitely liked it
I really liked it I liked it a lot ... it's a great book
even though case of conscience is a much more celebrated and famous book I actually prefer black Easter ... it kicks so much ass it's so great
is another one that you just have to read it's it goes from really small Stakes techno Thriller to Universe spanding meditation on the nature of Consciousness and quantum mechanics it's incredible
is a extremely beautifully written boring book ... it's highly literary it is again very slow but I do appreciate it for the quality of the writing
it's not as good as that ... but it's still wonderful ... if you like eyes of the Overworld you'll like this also
is definitely a mixed bag but overall very good really good characters ... it is a really good book
is tied I would say with the world inside for favorite silverberg ... it's about Redemption and ethics silverberg wrote Books A lot of them that even though you could probably bang them out in one sitting are rich with all the qualities that we like in books
starts off incredibly strong ... the first like half to two-thirds of the book are phenomenal and then it takes a dip tapers off into this totally almost completely different plot ... still worth reading for that first chunk it's great
the original book is the best book though ... the First Foundation is definitely the book of ideas and the one that most people read ... it's a really wonderful synthesis of Big Ideas about history and technology and also readable action
it's a important historically and important historically Space Opera that I don't care for I don't have this sense of nostalgia for a golden age pulp science fiction ... I can appreciate it for its historical importance but that's about all
is about a condominium that descends into Anarchy over the course of a few months it's a satire of trickle-down economics ... it's the kind of book that just lingers with you for a long time I still think about it
an extremely forgettable mediocre novel about stuff another one that I barely remember certainly cannot hold a flame to city which I think is a total Stone Cold Classic
is one of the best pieces of World building I have ever read ... it just gets crazier and crazier and cooler as it goes along you probably won't be able to stop reading it
it's simply genius ... it's a satire of fascism it's a satire of sword and sorcery fantasy and right-wing science fiction
this was just a little bit mediocre and forgettable ... I thought that it suffered from there's kind of this zelazny syndrome that I've noticed where there's a lot of winking and nodding ... I don't care for it
pleasantly surprised by this one I thought that it would be dry and boring but it was really charming and very readable in fact page turning at times ... I was surprised how much this book got under my skin in a good way
marooned in real time takes place way farther in the future and it's a different book it's a detective story that's not as interesting as peace War I wouldn't skip it necessarily but I definitely think peace war is better
if my arm were Twisted to the point of breaking and I had to name the best fantasy book that I've read I would probably have to give it to this one ... the end is just stunningly beautiful and profound
a totally serviceable juvenile novel ... it's interesting it's nothing groundbreaking but definitely highly readable simply not anything of great like literary interest
it surpassed my expectations has to be the strongest pros of any science fiction book I've ever read ... if you simply look at it as a museum piece ... just do that
it's a high fantasy Thriller which is a new one to me and read it in one sitting really entertaining it's what they call a ripping yarn in the business there were interjections of that kind of winky naughty type writing that I don't really care for
it's simply just bat off the wall weird it was really influential on a bunch of Space Opera that followed it ... I love neustralia
is a standalone Space Opera that's relatively short and relatively very experimental and strange ... I found it Just a Touch academic and just a touch self-consciously literary but I thought that it was a really unique book
it's a quickly paced decently written interesting book and I didn't like it because I well I wondered out loud when I reviewed it if it might be misogynist ... the women in the book basically do not speak
I thought it was poorly written I thought it was sluggish I thought it was remarkably bloated and it has one bright spot chapter 17. the rest of it I could do without and I simply found extremely boring and a chore to finish
is a zany ass off the wall Acid trip of a book ... I carry essentially no philosophical truck with but am in love with because it's simply so utterly bizarre
it's the last of the dying Earth novels and the worst which is not to say that it's bad I definitely enjoyed it ... it is very good it's very funny I laughed out loud a couple times
I consider it a perfect book ... it's a brutal and uncompromising but at times highly sentimental book purely as a literary construction I think that it is perfect
second Foundation I thought was a little bit dull not nearly as interesting as the first two ... second Foundation is more actiony and more readable and more coherent than the first one
another perfect book a genre defying piece of Science Fiction that is philosophical with a capital p ... it's possibly the high water mark of literary science fiction that I've encountered
a very long and very experimental book that I think is most remarkable for its prescience ... it does predict the onset of mass shootings and the surveillance State and the rise of AI
it's the first in the rifters trilogy ... it feels like blind sight it's not quite up to the level of blind sight but if you like blind sight you should read starfish ... it's a great little story full of atmosphere
it's a really formative work of sword and sorcery fantasy ... it feels like reading Dungeons and Dragons with a little literary spice thrown on top I thought that they were simple but effective and were written with more literary flourish than you might expect
its great world building It's the weird jack Vance writing that must be read to be appreciated ... it's such a great little uppercut of a standalone concise science fiction book
by far my favorite zelazni is the first that I read ... the writing in this is some of the best writing of any science fiction book that I've ever read
is my favorite fantasy book even though they're you know having said all that about Master and Margarita it's the one that I would be most enthusiastic to reread ... it just read it has amazing world building it's a great adventure story ... it's also one of the funniest books that I've ever read
I finally finished it ... I found more to like this final go around ... it does of course have a wonderful sense of place it is dry and it's slow but I like the feeling I like the atmosphere I like the sense of sadness in the book
is a really dark work ... it's the most disturbing science fiction book that I've read ... it was written in the late 60s but it doesn't feel like it's one of those ageless works and utterly Bleak
I found very middling another big classic that I just it just isn't for me I don't really think it's all that funny there's a few inventive ideas in it I like the improbability drive if I remember that correctly but I thought that the humor fell flat
it's the most recent book that I finished ... the final third of it completely won me over I thought it was really solid ... I liked it a lot I wouldn't consider it in my top 15 certainly but it did make me want to read more dick
it's a loose collection of short stories about man's conquest of Mars it's satirical it's dark it's beautiful it's beautifully written ... I was really happy to find that this I think deserves its Fame
is a little Gobstopper of a book ... it's a roller coaster of a book ... it is a hell of a great time to read and Shaw could write characters
it's very solid hard science fiction techno Thriller ... the two books are very solid they are a little dry that's kind of Werner venge's signature unfortunately the characters aren't that great but they're packed with really cool ideas
The short fiction is really remarkable it's extremely modern in its tone ... there's a couple of stories in here that are true masterpieces there's a little bit of filler ... it's really good maybe it should be higher on the list now that I'm talking about it
I thought it was wonderfully well written ... the characters are very memorable and the historical realism was very high you can tell that Anderson definitely did his homework
this is my favorite High fantasy book I think by a pretty long shot ... I think king of Elf one's daughter is a truly gorgeous work of literature that feels almost like a prose poem
I didn't really care for it I definitely think it was much Superior to Pandora's star it did also I think suffer from bloat a little bit ... I thought it was okay I thought it was okay Space Opera ... I thought it was fine I thought it was fine in a little bit too long
it was derivative to an extreme degree of Middle Earth that whole Mythos I thought it was really boilerplate high fantasy Stuff felt like it was written for teenagers
is a collection of short stories a lot of it is set in a dying Earth setting ... not quite obviously on par with Jack Vance because who is but kind of a nice little medium comfortable set point between Vance and the Elric books
it was middling it was extremely middling I would give it a 5 out of 10. I remember that because I remember thinking at the time wow this is a perfect five out of ten and that's a hard thing to find
it is a great novel if slow very painfully slow in Parts ... it really is a great book and it should be more famous than it is
it's definitely a very slow burn very character driven and a little bit dull and a little bit bloated I think it probably lived as a short story first and was then kind of beefed up into a novel
it's a fix up of two novellas religious SF really clumsy the first half is okay the second half really terrible one of the worst kind of on the nose obvious endings that I've ever read very skippable
