Reviews14

I really like the ending for 2001 because I thought I started coming up with theories I'm like I think it meant this but maybe it's this I'm going to go Google and it was one of those books that made me excited to talk about other readers with it to see the different interpretations

childhood's in was good enough to say yeah that's one of the best sci-fi authors ever you know because childhood's in is amazing I have the I have the folio Edition it's it's it's in my top 10 books of all time

I read the first book in his otherland series I'm do that one next yeah his Sci-Fi series and I really liked it initially I thought the World building was great I quite liked his Pros I liked his characters and then 200 pages later not that much had happened 400 Pages later not much had happened and by the end of book one it almost felt like I'd read like a 700 page prologue there really there really wasn't much payoff for finishing book one

Permutation CityGreg Egan
Loved it

this book aged really well it was written in 94 and it feels like it was written in like 2024 Greg Egan in terms of his understanding of like math and Computing he really created something brilliant here

Ready Player OneErnest Cline
Loved it

I liked it too I think you know obviously it doesn't have the weight of like a dune or a Hyperion but I enjoyed it for what it was and I'm in defense of the list

RingStephen Baxter

in terms of the ideas I think this is one of the most mindblowing books sci-fi books I've ever read the this the scale and the scope I can only compare to Alistar Reynolds in terms of the ideas the writing's a bit dry

Snow CrashNeal Stephenson
Loved it

I think it's a good a fun place to start with cyberpunk that's maybe less gritty and dystopian than some other cyberpunk books this one has some jokes which some people think are cool some people think are corny I think it's a little bit of a mix of both but overall I had a lot of fun with snow crash

The Fall of HyperionDan Simmons
Loved it

once we get going man this is Space Opera at its finest so many cool characters so many big ideas ... for me the highs were so high I don't care about any of its faults it's still just one of the most enjoyable books I've ever read
