I got very bogged down in this part of the book I found it uninteresting and in the end I need to consider it to be a technical dnf about 80% in
RANKING the 11 SCI FI books I read in July 2024
- Ranking · 15 books
I recommend I give the daughter of Eden nine out of 10 is another Galactic gem
I did didn't know what the story was because I was too busy trying to work out what the words meant and it was just immensely frustrating as read
I love this book and I give ftornine out of 10 it's a galactic gem
I found I was much more interested in the physical and geological impacts of the Time Slips and really not very interested in the Shelly Frankenstein elements
overall the second half salvaged the book for me taking it to an eight out of 10 EST Stella Splendor
I started but I haven't finished quite Lord of Light by Roger lne which is pretty good after a slow start
I didn't hate it but I was disappointed comp to the earlier books I gave record of a spaceborn few five out of 10
I've read one of Elizabeth Moon's book before now Remnant population which I read last year and I enjoyed it very much
it was entertaining enough and it moved along at a good clip I didn't need to engage my brain too much and I had fun while I was there but it was fairly forgettable stuff
it's an odd little book I did enjoy the strangeness of the Zone which we only see in Snippets and hints I think if IID read this in a short story collection or an anthology I would have been perfectly happy and moved on to the next one isolated like this on its own I do think I was left a little bit wanting
overall whilst there were things to enjoy I was disappointed I think I give the ministry of the future six out of 10
I enjoyed the way that the story developed the hidden lay that are revealed along the way and I enjoy the way that gly gets a grip on his on his personality or just about as the book progresses
I had absolutely no idea where it was going nor did I realize until after I'd finished reading it that the structure and themes were based on the Tarot deck I despite all of that and my occasional confusion I very much enjoyed my time in this book
I like the lead character I thought I lik the World building and I thought that the sense of peril was well done and I'm interested enough to read the next book
