When she meets Gansey, one of the boys from the expensive Aglionby Academy, she discovers that he has talents of his own--and that together their talents are a dangerous mix. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as "raven boys", they can only mean trouble. For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the raven boys, she's not so sure anymore.

Half the time, Simon can’t even make his wand work, and the other half, he sets something on fire. His mentor’s avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there’s a magic-eating monster running around wearing Simon’s face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here—it’s their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon’s infuriating nemesis didn’t even bother to show up.

A 3.5 went to The Dream Thieves, the graphic novel. This is the second book in a series. It was adapted from one of my favorite series of all time, and I thought this one was better done than the first book, and it had slightly its own voice.

Loved it

This series, honestly, I wasn't expecting to like it, but it just sucked me in. The writing, the characters, the world, it's all so incredible and unique and just fabulous.
