Pachinko

I really liked this book overall I thought it was very good there were definitely a few things in it that I was eh whatever but overall I thought that was a really solid book

I really enjoyed the historical elements of this book to be honest going into this book I didn't know much about the conflicts between Korea and Japan

the first third of this book was so brilliant like genuinely I thought this was going to be an easy five star. however the next third is kind of like a little bit mid and then the final third is genuinely a bit bad. Pachinko ultimately follows this one family through the generations but it starts off strong and then completely drops off

also one of my favorite books of the year going in behind fool's fate just an absolutely moving historical fiction family saga about multiple generations of one family beautiful

And it's a roller coaster, and the writing is stunning. And I really appreciated learning things to like, it was historical fiction that I fell in love with.

i just i loved this book so much i feel like for me personally it gave me so much context and history behind my own background that i really hadn't had before
