tier ranking the 100 books I read in 2024

I wasn't a big fan of this ... I never really felt attached to the character of G ... I think I'm going to put that in milk toast

I did read all of the other author's works and really I feel like we put together a really good Anthology ... I really do think we put out a good book

this one was pretty milk toast for me I'm not going to lie ... it just felt a little bit on the nose and a little bit I don't know it wasn't inspiring

this book is a classic favorite of mine from childhood I love an so much and it was an amazing read I read that out loud with my two daughters this year

I really love the concept of this series a lot I did feel like it dragged which is why I haven't continued ... I'm going to put that in book good

I really enjoyed this I think it's a really good Memoir ... it was really open and vulnerable and honest ... I'm going to put that on Amazing read

this made it onto my top 10 of 2024 I really loved it checked so many boxes for me ... that one definitely ended up in my best books of 2024

this is book two in his catian Saga ... Andrew is the most intense World Builder I've ever seen ... one of the most nuanced explorations of faith that I've ever seen in fiction

I have nothing positive to say about this book ... this reads like some of the worst fanfiction I've ever read ... that one's a casted into the fire easily

within a few pages you just know that you're in good hands ... it's in my top three reads from 2024 it was my number two pick of the entire year

however this book is not my favorite of hers ... it's definitely my least favorite ... the characters fell very flat for me and I just I didn't love it ... I'm going to have to put this one in a hot mess

I really struggled with it in quite a few sections it made me frustrated especially toward the end ... Bradberry captured the atmosphere of childhood ... I'd say that's a milk toast read

I just felt like Pierce Brown really lost his way in this book ... Dark Age was a hot mess ... it was so frustrating to read

this is a very interesting and fresh take on creature fantasy ... I thought that he did a really good job for the most part with it ... I'll put it in the book good category

this one is another one that's going up in my best books of 2024 it's so incredibly good ... I literally went out and bought almost all of the other books that she's written

there were so many things about this book that I loved ... the one thing that bothered me though is that ... I wanted a little bit more tiger ... it was a good book but that felt like a really big missed opportunity

it is my favorite fantasy book of all time and it still is ... I love this book it's absolutely incredible

I love that he chose to focus on different aspects of mental health in this collection ... I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if I had read some of his other work first ... that one was a little milk toast for me

I loved this book it's so good I'm putting it in the best books of 2024 ... these characters are just phenomenal

Fire and song was good it's not as good as the first book ... it was still good ... I'm going to put this in it's still an amazing read

it was good like it was a decent book I don't know that I was particularly Blown Away by it but I did really like some of the World building and concept things

I did a reread of Golden Sun from the Red Rising series ... of course that's going to go up in my amazing reads because I still love it holds up every time

this is a good book and I love this series and I really liked this book but it wasn't until book two that I realized I was reading one of my favorite series ... guards is a good intro

this is a really good book this was almost on my top reads of the year ... it's like a Jane Austin heroine gets sent to war in a flint loock fantasy world

I didn't love this I really didn't love this ... the romance was so incredibly predictable frustrating ... it really bothered me

I like the magic system in place I like the World building I think the characters fell a little bit flat for me ... from a setting perspective honestly can we please have more books set in Like An Egyptian mythology inspired world

it's so good you guys I miss the era of coming of age survival stories ... Gary Paulson does such a good job with the tension in such a short book

it's very hard to read but it's done in a very straightforward and honest style that I really liked ... I definitely want to read more of kaak kami's works

this is a hard-hitting memoir and I think that her raw vulnerability in this Memoir is really powerful ... definitely worth a read

it was okay I'm going to put it at the end is of book good ... I do have a hard time judging my experience with iron gold separately from the disaster of Dark Age

iron Prince by Bryce o Conor is going up in my top reads of 2024 ... I love the characters in this story so much

I felt like the characters felt a little troppy at several points ... I did struggle with the length of it ... I think it was a little bit milk toast for me

this is the fourth book in the city watch and it's amazing ... Jingo is such a good book

lightbringer really restored my faith in where Pierce Brown is going with this series it's an improvement over Dark Age in every possible way

I gave it three stars ... the atmosphere he created ... was amazing ... there was a very heavy focus on a female character ... so exhausting to read ... I'm going to put it in milk toast

that one is also in my Best Book of 2024 loved it ... I was amazed at how much of an impact it left on me ... I really loved a lot of the themes

this is really good this is classic fantasy written in the 2020s and Howard Andrew Jones really knocked it out of the park ... I put that in amazing reads

this one is labeled as adult fantasy I disagree with that personally ... there were a few very gratuitous things ... I'd say that's a that's a hot mess read for me

this was my book of the year ... men-at-arms just absolutely blew me away ... the characters are so good

this is the most wholesome adorable book ... Mildred is a delightful protagonist I love her to bits in pieces ... I would definitely put this on my amazing reads

I reread Morning Star this year ... I got to put it up in the top reads of 2024 because I love it so much it's one of my favorite books ever

Mort is the story of a very awkward and gangly teenage boy who becomes an apprentice to death and it's precious ... the characters especially in the first half of the book are just so incredibly good

it's very short but it's an incredibly impactful read ... I really appreciated vel's exploration of how his faith ... mind-blowingly good

this was another one of my top reads of 2024 it's so good ... please go read this book ... it's a naval military fantasy amazing character

this was my first official all the way through Jane Austin read and I'm really glad that I started with this one ... I just really loved this book

I wasn't a big fan of this I didn't like the writing style very much I found it to be pretty clunky ... book one was pretty was pretty meh for me

this was such a big surprise for me in 2024 I was just amazed by how much I loved this ... I really liked orconomics a lot

this was also in my top reads of 2024 really enjoyed it's a short book ... I'm still pretty kg about details because just read it

I just the author does something at the very end of book four that is one of my most hated plot elements ever ... I was just really disappointed in the direction overall that the series took

this book is a cozy fantasy about a giant named Nork softstep ... really good solid cozy fantasy ... really enjoyed quaint creatures a lot

reread of Red Rising ... had a great time rading it I love that series

in return to the Griffin we our main character Rohan goes back to Earth and for me that was kind of a choice I don't know that I would have made ... I wasn't a big fan of it

I liked a lot of the potions making aspect of this book ... when it came to the romance it was pretty tropey and just very predictable ... I'm going to put that one in hot mess

book one it's it's very concept and worldbuilding heavy some good characters set up in book one but it not quite enough to hook me ... it's still a good book I still would put it in the in the good book category

this book just felt like straight misery and torture through the entire book ... I absolutely hated it ... Liv ship Traders is not for me

it's very Delight it's very Golden Girls Vibes ... I didn't love as much as some of her other work but I think it's a really good cozy mystery

this one is going up in my best books of 2024 because it's phenomenal ... one of the coolest depictions of dragons ... Carol Berg's writing is just phenomenal

I love this series so much some of the volumes that I read this year were definitely more filler esque ... I absolutely have been having a blast with this series

I couldn't have disliked it less it was so awful ... I hated this book so much so that one's another casted Into the Fire

I loved the first installment of the last Ronin it was phenomenal it was so good

this one me it was okay it was not as good as the first one I mean the art style is absolute banger but as a story I wasn't I wasn't that impressed with it

I really liked the story in the sense that I think it brings to the center stage a type of character we don't often see ... there were a few kind of clunky things about it

the pros is really beautiful ... I just felt like the pros was in Center Stage so often that the characters just sort of got lost in it ... this one was very milk toast for me

I really enjoyed it a lot the creatures in it are really interesting ... I can completely see why mckillop is a beloved author

it's amazing it's such a beautiful story I loved it so much ... I had a great time with it

I like the premise of this book but I'm not going to lie the daughter character was absolutely insufferable ... I'm going to put that in the milk toast C category

this no B was another example of me struggling to find my footing in a world I was completely unfamiliar with in a very short space of time ... I definitely feel like this is a book I wish I would have read after reading some of the series

it ended up in my best books of 2024 ... the present day story is phenomenal it's absolutely incredible ... my only criticism is that secondary story line really changed the tone

it's so cute you guys ... I think it's really well written ... I'm so excited for middle grade fantasy

I liked some aspects of it but the humor did kind of Miss for me generally speaking ... I wasn't a big fan of it

two years ago wistful ascending was one of my top reads the year that I read it book one absolutely love it's a superhero Space Opera kind of story ... it remains one of my top most underrated sci-fi gems and Indie gems that I've read

this is a zombie apocalypse story ... the central event kind of catalystic event that takes place with the characters in this story I really didn't love ... I was kind of grossed out by it

it was a fresh take on those themes and I think the atmosphere is really strong in Nolla

I was really confused by this book ... I did not like the writing style of this one at all ... I'm going to put it in the hot mess category
