This book was very funny and satirical very nice if this is a woman's favorite book you need to run very far away.

Why do authors do this thing where they look at their cast of characters and they look at the most interesting ones and think yes let's put them to the side and make them Side characters and then they take their most wet soggy cardboard characters and turn them into a main character and then they force some kind of romance that is just as soggy and flavorless.
This ended up just being a pretty mediocre fantasy story that I feel like didn't understand its own strengths therefore ended up excelling at nothing.
This book was so well researched on both the historical and linguistic stuff I actually felt like I was learning something while reading this book but one of my biggest pet peeves when reading stories that explore interesting ideas and messages is when these messages are very explicitly stated and discussed by the characters instead of weaving it into the subtext and as a result the plot became very predictable to me.
This book started out absolutely amazing it had me blushing squealing kicking my little feet in the air this is the best exploration of what it feels like to fall in love that I've ever seen but then it kind of got a little boring in my opinion.
If you are a 20s something year- old white woman who cares about Progressive politics but is also kind of preoccupied with herself maybe more than you would like to admit then this book is for you and about you.
This is Rivals to lovers and then they find out that they're actually a really great team together read this book if you want a master class on how to flirt.
It's the first book I started heavily annotating and underlining because there were just so many things I wanted to be able to look back on so many interesting themes and ideas this is a book about being a girl for those who love absurdity in a novel.
Unfortunately the main character was the only character that I enjoyed in this book.
It is a slow literary contemporary novel but yeah if you are looking to read a book about family abuse and domestic violence you might actually like this book it's very well written it's just kind of my own fault for picking up a book that I never would have enjoyed.
I had hope and I witnessed that hope being crushed under the merciless boot of wat pet writing.
It feels really weird to say about someone's life oh that's such a good story but I think that it's thanks to mcc's really great storytelling and humor that makes her biography stand out so much.
The dialogue in this book I can only describe it as film logic these characters did not feel like they spoke the way real humans do it felt like they spoke the way an AI would think humans speak after you feed it a bunch of blockbuster movies and this truly kept me from fully loving the story.
When a book has stood the test of time is considered a classic work of literature and adored by many turns out to actually be good let go of your fear of classic literature and long books and read this beautiful Coming of Age story.
I just realized this book's not for me.
In the end the story was a little bit too disjointed and Mosaic style for me to super love it but I did enjoy it.
I think I have more chemistry with a helium balloon than these characters have with each other.
After not really enjoying sorcery of thorns by the same author I somehow thought you know let's give the author another go.
You know nothing says true love like betraying each other and stabbing each other in the back when I heard people complain that this book has too much enemies and not enough lovers that's when I knew it was going to be the book for me.
The story also deals with the main character dealing with these problems that she has in the bedroom and healing her trauma and it was actually really beautiful and surprisingly wholesome and it did make me cry but it does that thing where it's like I healed my trauma because I finally found the right guy it's also very strong on the internalized misogyny.
It's just a shame that the story itself the plot was so boring like I really did not need 300 pages of this random scientist's life.
This book has cringy flirting gimmicky witchy elements a magic sex cake but sometimes you just have to embrace the cringe and accept that despite the cringe you finish the book in two days.
If said satirical novel also has pristine psychological character work a critique of Academia elitism and many layers of symbolism you're making me a very happy person.
A romance book where the love and interest aon's main selling point is that he is not a bad person he gets an award for actually listening to you when you talk and not being sexist the bar is in hell.
Holly black just takes the typical unhinged woman that we love puts her in a fay world and then just watches as all hell breaks loose.
It's thematically strong it was just really boring I really found myself trying to push through this book.
It's a classic tale of no one understands me but you I'm so misunderstood and deep except it's not annoying it's a haunting tale of a first toxic friendship that is the result of feeling like you don't belong anywhere read this if you want to feel like something just grabbed your gut Twisted it around your heart and then yanked it.
I started listening to the audio book of this kind of magical nun warrior book because that's a pretty cool concept but I listened to the honor book and it didn't really keep my attention so I ended up never really finishing it.
I was expecting a big gut punch of atmosphere and theme from this book but instead it is more like a gentle jab to the stomach.
The first hour you think haha this is so bad it's really funny but then after that you're like M it's kind of really just bad.
