I understand why Goodreads has it lower, but I think it's an outstanding book and definitely, you know, a top two book for me of this ranking.

But man, I just I love the courage. I love the inventiveness of his brand of horror that he reveals here. He's willing to go places that, you know, a lot of a lot of people might take it a little safer than he did, but man, Carrie is great.
It just feels very different because I didn't feel that in this book he was quite as strong with characterization as he is in everything else that I've read by him, including his non-fiction works. But it was still a good book.
I remember the story very clearly, but I think the characters are really wooden in this book and I didn't really latch on to any of them.
And actually, as I'm filming this today, I finished the series and I think it's a very strong series. I really enjoyed it and I enjoyed this debut, Harpy's Flight.
The one thing that really struck me when I read this a month or two ago because this is the most recent read on this list that I've read is that it's kind of an author searching for a voice.
