Best & Worst Books of 2018

JunkyWilliam S. Burroughs
Loved it

This is what I look for when it's a story about heroin. This is a semi-autobiographical novel of William S. Burroughs' experience in the 1950s as being a heroin addict and a drug dealer. And I loved it.

This was, overall, my most enjoyable reading experience of 2018. This is another book that completely shattered my expectations of it, and it really kind of raised the bar, and I'm so glad to have finally read it because I really enjoyed Kurt Vonnegut's writing and his writing style.

The RoomHubert Selby Jr.
Mixed

I had such a difficult time reading it because the content is so graphic, and it really affected me in a negative way. But, I think, yeah, it should be included on this because it is a really great novel, and it's certainly one worth shining the spotlight on.

The ShiningStephen King
Not a fan

I wouldn't even be able to kind of recommend this. I just found it so tedious and drawn out. And I was just waiting and waiting for something to happen.

Wuthering HeightsEmily Brontë
Loved it

I was under the impression that this was just a love story, that it was some bit of soppy, you know, romanticized classic. And little did I know that it was just a story about like a lost love and revenge and mostly revenge and pettiness and more revenge and safe to say I loved it.
