The WORST Books I Read in 2023! (so many popular disappointments)

I feel like the concepts of this are really strong I also love the multi- POV experience of this what I struggled with this book is that I feel like the plot pacing was just off

obviously I was very disappointed by this story I did read it quickly I think that's the one point in its favor that I will give it was for the most part an easy read but I was just constantly distracted by both the fantasy plot and the romance plot

it wasn't bad by any means but I just didn't like it as much as I was anticipating

while I didn't love the first installment I did like it but I would say because I was expecting to love it with everyone else just liking it made me a bit disappointed with it by the end

this was by no means like the worst book I read this year but I won't lie when I say I did have a few problems with this book while reading it

I read the first book which is the bone Shard daughter a few years ago and I actually liked it for the most part like it was a solid fantasy debut conceptually I love the magic system I thought the world was interesting and I was also compelled by quite a few characters

I was so disappointed by the story I just feel like everything felt so convenient or expected nothing about the story really shocked or surprised me and honestly if I'm being straightforward I was just kind of bored reading this book

I didn't find him funny I didn't like his jokes I didn't like his pasts and motivations he just didn't really resonate with me as a main character

I loved like 95% of it I was entertained I was interested I liked the setting I liked the writing to me it was a successful Gothic horror story but then the last 20 Pages happened

I want to like this series so badly both prior and a day of Fallen night I went into with like an open heart and an open mind I want to love these books and I will say my general disappointment with this series

the book version was just really lackluster in comparison

I think the concept was great and aspects of it I definitely enjoyed but overall I would say I was wanting more when I finished this book

I just found this fourth installment to be so fanservicey and really repetitive in the plot
