An Ancient Cinderella? The Tale of Rhodopis

So he wrote a work titled geography or geographica which dates back to the early first millennia to the 1st century CE and is exactly what you would expect from a work entitled geography. It is an exploration of antiquity through geography.

So a much earlier version of Rodopus' tale is found in Heroditus' histories which is credited as being the first work of historioggraphy. And in this book, Heroditus recounts various tales again of the ancient world including Egypt.
