hate to say it, I didn't really enjoy this very much. There's a bunch of stuff in here that I would categorize as annoying hippie Kazoo... My two favorites are the disaster story by Charles Platt... I also like Integrity by PF Woods. ... the rest of it I found, I don't know, a little bit academic, a little bit formal, a little bit self-consciously experimental.
7 Ambitious Sci-Fi Books That Sometimes Pull Off Great Feats
it's very good. Aldis is a great writer. I don't agree with him on all of his takes, but I don't know that it would make as much of an impact if you hadn't read a bunch of science fiction before reading this.
I liked it very much. I'm curious to read Moore's sort of sword and sorcery dreaming pole sorts of stories which are supposed to be very good. I thought that this was good. It wasn't quite great, but it is an interesting dystopia.
I found it a little bit dull, a little bit too slapsticky. ... I think that the third act is certainly the best. I think it goes from comedy to tragedy and it just attains this air of seriousness and gravity... I think that it's as good as those and as sort of startling in its conclusions...
I was disappointed by this. ... The stuff just wasn't really that good is the thing. ... I do remember Deniprov was the most interesting person here and the island of the crabs which is his most famous story... best story in here. I think that's the one worth seeking out.
surprise, surprise, it's great. Maulsberg is my favorite science fiction author. And this will be coming out, I'm sure, after the Maulsburg haul video. ... I liked this a lot.
I found this book to be a jumble. I found it overcrowded and the pros itself just feels crowded. It feels busy. a rather punishing thing to read for 450 odd pages. ... I admire it, I think, academically, but in terms of the actual reading experience, I thought that it was stumbly and bumbly or just too frenetic.
