I cannot in good conscious give it a five because the pacing for the first half is terrible. Rebecca Quang is a like literary artist. Like it's one of the best written linguistically books that I've ever read and the characters are so real and the stories in it are so important and just well communicated.

the artwork is fucking stunning. And the stories are really poignant and lovely and sad and perfect and it's great.

Everything is solids throughout the book. Characters, atmosphere, everything. The plot is a wee bit dry. Plot is a little bit undercooked. so I'm giving that four stars.

good book. Funny book. Gideon night is basically one big trial to become double necro supreme and become best pals with God.

It fits together really well. And the second one has like a lot of like the world building and the lore and like the wider universe.

It continues and it is now definitely firmly my favorite series because I can reread it all knowing what happens and you see all the bits and pieces falling into place.
