I could have read a thousandpage version of that book. I wish it was longer. True Grit, the book, was way better than the Cohen Brothers version of the movie.
This book was truly great. This stood out above everything else I read the entire year.
I really thought I was getting a spooky scary story. But what I got was a much more mature human story.
I think I just didn't get it. The humor, the style, I don't think at that time it wasn't my cup of tea.
I liked it. It was good. In the moment of reading it, it was great because it was exciting and fresh and it just kind of cleansed the palette.
