Others: Mostly positive

It is the year 1327. Franciscans in an Italian abbey are suspected of heresy, but Brother William of Baskerville’s investigation is suddenly overshadowed by seven bizarre deaths.

Mixed

to be honest i found it to be as exciting in part as it was boring in others the theological reflections and discussions relevant at the time of the normal weight i mean at the time of the novel setting weigh down the action quite a bit and make it a fairly slow i found it fairly difficult reading

Loved it

It's a mystery novel and I love the mystery in it. I love the untangling of clues and more mysteries and deaths piling up. It's also historical fiction and it really dives into theological discussions, which I didn't always follow, but the whole thing is rich in detail, wonderfully told, just a good story that will really appeal to people who love libraries and books.
