MixedI've actually read this. It's not exactly to my taste, but if you like Bradberry and kind of softer SF, kind of more homespun, folksier science fiction, fantasy, horror, then Zena Henderson might be of interest to you.

The anything box (1965)
Others: Mixed Don't open The Anything Box unless you're prepared for the unexpected. The Grunder, a thing of horror which, if defeated, restores love... The Noise-Eater, created by a child out of his fevered imagination, gobbles up anything--or anyone--that makes a sound... The Coveti, residents of an alien world poisoned by the intrusion of the stranger from Earth... The Beast Hill, an ordinary mound of earth, except that its grass resembles fur, and--doesn't it move?

The Best of Judith Merril
Judith Merril
1976 · 254 pages · 1 review
Others: NegativeFrom rear "No one projects herself more penetratingly into the psyche of the women of future centuries than Judith Merril. With the probe of her imagination, as precise and powerful as a space shot, she envisions the problems they will face and how those problems will try their the mother whose newborn bears the effects of radiation; the girl in whose body a new race must begin; the women who must rule a generation-spanning search through space for new settling grounds; the woman who must be all women to the male crew of a space ship. No matter how mechanized our journeys into space become, inside the space suits we are human; and Judith Merril predicts we always will be."

Naomi Mitchison
1962 · 160 pages · 2 reviews
Others: PositiveNaomi Mitchison, daughter of a distinguished scientist, sister of geneticist J B S Haldane, was always interested in the sciences, especially genetics. Her novels did not tend to demonstrate this, and she did not publish a Science Fiction novel until almost forty years into her fiction-writing career. This novel works effectively for readers who usually eschew the genre and prefer more traditional narratives. Explorers like Mary are an elite class who consider curiosity to be Terrans' supreme gift, and in the novel she more than once takes risks that may destroy her life. Her voice, as she records her adventures and experiments, is individual, attractive and memorable.

Others: NegativeFour-BEE was an utopian city. If you didn't mind being taken care of all your long long life, having a wild time as a "jang" teen-ager, able to do anything you wanted from killing yourself innumerable times, changing bodies, changing sex, and raising perpetual hell, it could be heaven. But for one inhabitant there was always something askew. He/she had tried everything and yet the taste always soured. And then he/she succeeded in committing the one illegal act--and was thrown out of heaven forever. But forever is not a term any native of that robotic utopia understood. And so he/she challenged the rules, declared independence, and set out to prove that a human was still smarter than the cleverest and most protective robot.
