Mixedas an individual story it was fine it wasn't the most engaging fantasy novel I've ever read I liked the characters but I didn't love them and I also thought that it was like very slow-paced. if it hadn't have been marketed as a prequel to a fire in stars it probably wouldn't be on this list but because I was given that expectation that there would be some similarity between those two stories I was really letdown.
