I came away from it realizing that I do really like Murray conditioned camps writing style her prose is just really beautiful and easy to fall into. as I kept reading I realized nothing was really getting resolved and we weren't moving forward.

even though like I didn't think it was the greatest book in the world and I had some problems with writing and structure and such I had a fun time with it. final girls had something about it that I really enjoyed.
follow me didn't have any of that and on had the flaws mystery in book 1 was okay the mystery in book 2 was really dumb. overall follow me was one of the biggest letdowns of the year.
when the sequel actually started I was surprised with how much I was enjoying it I was really vibing with it the one thing I think the sequel captured really well was the atmosphere. overall this book was very predictable unremarkable I did not have a fun time 0 to 10 would not recommend.
as an individual story it was fine it wasn't the most engaging fantasy novel I've ever read I liked the characters but I didn't love them and I also thought that it was like very slow-paced. if it hadn't have been marketed as a prequel to a fire in stars it probably wouldn't be on this list but because I was given that expectation that there would be some similarity between those two stories I was really letdown.
the writing of this book was probably my least favorite part it also felt very amateur underdeveloped like there wasn't anything special or bright about it felt very basic. I did think the representation in the book was really great so that's a plus.
it is the sequel to a novel called a fire in stars which I have been obsessed with since I read and so I was really excited to dive back into this world with a different story.
the writing in the amateurs was very amateur the characters were one-dimensional the dialogue was like I hate to use the word but cringy and there was something about the plot that was very contrived but for some reason it was like really charming and I devoured it.
I did not really enjoy my time reading the wicked deep I really loved the atmosphere and I thought the book had so much potential but everything just sort of fell flat in my opinion.
I do objectively think that the last time I lied is a better written novel than final girls. I was just really bored this story and the mystery just did not capture me.
unfortunately this book was just like a letdown and every sense of the word. the moments with her father were really good like there was so much honesty and truth in those scenes.
