I really liked the beginning of this. I liked up until they got to the pirate station and then there were so many side characters I didn't care about. The writing is super dry and like technical so there's a lot of things going on with like the space station and how these women are trying to like fix things about the space station and there's like so much focus on like technical things and repairs that they're doing that is just not interesting and I didn't really find there to be a very compelling dynamic even between the two characters.

I've read a few of them now and I have only really liked one of them and that was Deathless and that one I liked in retrospect and not so much when I was reading it.
The first book that I DNF'd was Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa. This I DNF'd mostly because I didn't love the writing. It felt a little immature.
I tried to read this both in physical copy and an audio book. Couldn't follow any of it. And I just was like I don't want to do this.
This is a book that I have read and I've reviewed and I've talked about why I didn't really care for it. It's a book that I don't care to keep on my shelves and would have gotten rid of with my last unhaul if I had read it by then because it's not a book that I ever plan on rereading and falls in this like literary fiction kind of category.
The writing is beautiful but the story I didn't really care to follow. I didn't really care to stick with the character for the writing and as much as I tried to push through and read almost 300 pages of this like 700 800 page book, I decided I didn't want to and I wasn't enjoying it so I DNFed it.
The third book that I DNFed was The Thousand Names by D.J. Wexler. I think what I didn't like about this is that it's a multiple POV story, which I liked that, and it's a like gunpowder fantasy, so it's a fantasy with magic and stuff, but they also have guns. But it seemed very military fantasy focused.
I read about 50 pages of this and just decided to put it down. The thing that really pissed me off and made me put it down was that the main character sees things, sees hallucinations and such, and like has sort of like premonitions and stuff, and that is depicted as something that's magical...
