It's very unexpected and very weird, but very slow. The epistolary nature of it makes it very slow. I would say just like a solid three. I don't know if I'm going to continue.
what I read this summer
I end up really loving this. I give this 4.5 out of five stars. This balances everything really well in my opinion.
For me, this was just mid. I just kind of feel like it meandered way too much for what it was doing.
I loved this because it has all the kinds of things that I love. You know, magical woods, sentient forest, fay type creatures, mischief, chaos, trauma, all of those things.
This was fine. The writing was a little bit too tongue and cheek in some ways where like it was using too much modern language for this fantasy setting. It was fine. Kind of forgettable for me.
I loved this. The world is so interesting and just different and it just has like a different flavor than what I've seen in a while. I really liked that our main character is awful and she grows in ways that are realistic.
It was a satisfying wrap-up, and I think the wrap-ups of the characters were really satisfying. But by the end, the actual plot stuff felt pretty boring.
This is the second book in the Burning Kingdom series and continues to be a favorite. I just wanted to refresh everything and I just continue to love these characters.
This is just very cute. It's very cute. It's very fun. I highly recommend the audio for this as well.
I love our main characters. Each story really kind of like pieces out their flaws while still really having you pull for them. I gave it five out of five stars.
I found myself kind of getting a little bit annoyed by things and by it feeling very two-dimensional. So, I gave this a 2.5 out of five stars.
I quite enjoyed this. I would say it was a four for most of it and then the very end really dragged in a way that did kind of bring the story down.
There's just a lot of like philosophical conversations in this sci-fi world that is such a unique undertaking that you can't quite explain to people about what it is. So yeah, I quite enjoyed this. Four out of five stars.
I did really enjoy this book. Like a four out of five stars. Tabbed it up a lot. It's about like financial witchcraft and things like that.
