I just think that this book is super smart because I could gush all day about how messed up and disturbing it is but at the end of the day I do think that this book is just really intelligent how it writes about this time period these individuals.

I really like this one and I can't even pretend that it's a really unique or unusual vampire story... for whatever reason this book just captured me and again I wouldn't do it with such low expectations.
this is first and foremost a fantastic straight up serial killer story... this one just felt very out of the box I didn't trust that I knew where the author was gonna go I like the direction of it and I thought again it was fierce it did not hold back.
despite being one of the most despicable disgusting books that I have ever read at the same time it was also one of the most beautiful books in terms of the prose the lyrical nature of it... I just could not put the book down.
it is so unflinching and honest and it talks about a topic that so many other authors would not touch with a 10-foot pole... I think it's a really important nuanced story that left a really powerful impression on me.
I will admit that this book is horribly predictable I knew exactly what was happening very early on... I had a lot of fun I really enjoyed being in Norman Bates head and I thought he was a great character.
this book was wonderful and again it's fairly short because it is why a and I love short horror because it was perfect there was nothing I wanted to change there was nothing I wanted to cut out or edit down it was just absolutely perfect.
this is one that I loved for so many reasons one being the fact that I love coming of age stories that involve a loss of innocence... I had such a good time reading it gave me all the nostalgic feels.
I really enjoyed this one despite the fact that I don't normally love slow burning character-driven stories... I found the ending to be a little bit underwhelming unfortunately which let me down a little bit but the ride to get there was still so enjoyable.
this one does have a very slow start so you have to be committed to read until the good stuff starts coming and well once it gets good it gets really good I enjoyed this one quite a bit I enjoyed the con man aspects to the book.
