this is a book that i loved so much because before reading it i didn't actually think that i liked coming of age stories. i was completely immersed in the story i did not want to put the book down

it is a lot darker and that does tend to kind of give it a little bit more of a nudge. oh my goodness it was dark and devastating and there were so many moments where i just felt like i was getting punched in the gut

of the four stories i loved three of them so i did want to include them on this list. those stories really stood out to me and definitely make the collection well worth your time

this is a book that is just so brilliant it is so different than any other horror book i have read. i just think it's so perfect i gave it five stars hands down easily not just my favorite backlist horror book but honestly this is my favorite horror book of the year

my goodness i love this book for so many reasons first off i love the religious undertones to this book. i loved it i was scared for the characters i just found it to be dark and disturbing and just a rich book full of philosophy

i really enjoyed the back and forth because you get to see that grief which was so poignant. the relationship between him and his mother are so realistic and i just really cared for the characters. it was the ending that really kicked it up a notch and put it on my favorites list for the year

when the story went to where it was going and i loved it so much. i thought the ending was just brilliant and fun and very enjoyable. i definitely want to read more from this author
