And it was just really excellent from beginning to end. It's incredibly well-written.

Both outright fantasy. And The Daughter's War is one of my favorite books of all time.
You'll be laughing out loud one minute and then after that you'll be on the verge of tears. The roller coaster emotions is just seamless.
Then I've got Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich, a book that feels messy, human, heartbreaking, and funny all at the same time. I just thought I am in the presence of masterful writing.
This is another really well-accomplished debut in fantasy. Multi-POV family saga is epic.
So, the Mistral, I really enjoyed it. It really felt kind of true to what I love as a reader, character-heavy, wider scope, love a bit of political intrigue, and a unique world
The Road has become the quintessential apocalyptic novel of the 21st century. It's Cormac McCarthy I think near or at his best in terms of the efficiency, the heart, the characters that you do really feel invested in.
This was a reread for me and once again it's five stars just like it was the first time round.
I think it's executed really well. Again, a common theme with a lot of these writers is there's been beautiful writing and that is again prevalent with Tommy Orange.
Tress of the Emerald Sea, this is Pratchett-esque whimsical style, great play of words, and I as you can tell with it being on this list, I absolutely loved it. It made me laugh out loud, which is a rare experience
It is just excellently written. There is a liveliness to the narration that is just injected with kind of humor but sharpness and wit as well.
