I read what I think pretty sure is like the best book that I read all year so far... I was just constantly highlighting things I cannot stop highlighting every few pages because there's so much Beauty in these words
new favourite books, epic fantasy & japanese lit 🌟 books i recently read
at its best moments this book reads more like a political essay and because of that I'm more interested in trying out Olivia Link's non-fiction work because it's making me believe that she is a good non-fiction writer but the story of Kudo honestly didn't really stick with me
I ended up really enjoying it... I did enjoy kind of the bizarre imagery that was going on so yeah this was my first introduction to Japanese literature and I did enjoy it I would give it three and a half Stars
I can happily tell you that yes I again really liked it... this was just such a fun book four stars for Emily Henry always
which I do actually highly recommend anyone looking into that looking into the patterns of how Fascist governments come to be so you can recognize them when and they are happening right now
overall this book kind of bored me and I didn't really feel very connected to these characters... forgettable and I gave it two stars
I really like romances of the type we are both kind of weird and not accepted by society and are finding like solace in each other's company I love that... I eventually was like slightly disappointed in it as in it started out so amazing but I felt like the tension between the characters gets resolved pretty quickly... I enjoyed it but it wasn't like absolutely amazing three stars
I'm only like 50 pages in and so far it is really interesting the story contains like weird monsters made out of bone shards and I like it when there's just like weird little monster constructs in fantasy novels
I really enjoyed this one I read it on my Kindle and I'm glad that I did because it was just one of those books where again almost every single thing you read you're just like I need to highlight this... it is one of those essay collections where I've genuinely changed my mind on a lot of things because of this book
the main problem that I have with this book is that it takes about 200 Pages which is a whole third of this big brick of a book before anything interesting starts happening... but once I was invested in it I was absolutely hooked... solid four stars four and a half Stars
