best new fantasy of 2025 so far!

So many, many reveals, so many different twists and turns, so many things to try to guess. It is just an absolute page turner. I love this series.

This book has everything I could ever want in it. Again, the horror elements are amazing and they're quite spooky scary if you ask me, but that's also combined with a very thrilling fantasy plotline in great character connections. I flew through book one.

This series has just impressed me immensely. It's just entertaining and full of heart with great characters and action. It's truly just lovely.

Only romanty book I have given five out of five stars to this year by far. I ate this up. It's just perfect.

Honestly, the only bad thing about this book is that they sold it as a standalone, but it's now going to be a series. But I can look past that because I enjoyed the writing style, the characters, and just the stylization of this book so much.

And I'm honestly so happy to say I was pretty impressed by this book overall. The vibes are there, the setting is there. It was very romantic. It was gothic and dark. I loved the setting.

And this was written by the same author who wrote This Is How You Lose the Time War, which was one of my favorite sci-fi releases I read last year.

The writing style was lush. The vibes were definitely there. I liked the romance, too. It was engaging. I bought in.
