I truly cannot stop, which is kind of a rarity. I'm not one to typically like binge an entire series at once, but I truly cannot put these books down.
Massive Reading Wrap Up
I sobbed my eyes out reading this book and I can attest to many of my friends having the same reaction reading this, but I will also say it was incredible.
It's just so entertaining from the dialogue to how the plot itself is set up and how every book actually has its own distinct quality to it.
The characters become so lovable. You feel deeply connected to their faith.
Did I read them quickly? Was I entertained? Yes. Were they like the most fantastic examples of romance? No. Would I recommend them? Maybe.
I loved this. Alex E. Harrow can write a sentence and I will eat it up every single time. She created the perfect ambiance for this story to unfold in.
Every single one has had me hooked from page one. This is like half of what I've read in 2026 so far.
The action is refreshing. The author's always keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Mind you, I really liked book one quite a bit, but I feel like everything about this world and plot really expanded and grew with the second installment in every way that I really appreciated.
I just found myself slowly and then all at once deeply connected to these characters. I teared up many times while reading this. I really, really enjoyed the setup and the execution.
I feel completely out of my like genre expertise in terms of like saying if these books were good or not. Did I read them quickly? Was I entertained? Yes.
My brother actually recently read this book and enjoyed it immensely, so I was excited to pick it up and I have to admit, I really loved this book, too. Honestly, I would give this book like five stars.
Were they like the most fantastic examples of romance? No. Would I recommend them? Maybe. I think it just depends on like what kind of romance you would read.
Where I felt the first book was like a very solid four star reads, the second book was a five star read. It's very rare I feel like you go into a second installment and everything is improved and I feel like that is exactly what happened with The Wall of Storms by Ken Liu.
This is by no means like a mind-boggling book but I found a lot of like peace while reading it and again I really appreciated the grounded aspect to the narrative and the problems. It was a good read.
