The first one is The Tainted Cup, and the sequel, A Drop of Corruption, came out this year, and it was so unbelievably fantastic.

It just felt like Joe Abberromy was at his absolute best with this particular trilogy housing some of my favorite characters of all time.
I also feel like it's one of the most beautiful and tender like observations about the world and what it means to be human, what it means to be alive that I've read in a long time.
Particularly, I loved books two and three so much. And I will be reading book four soon.
Basically, the structure of this book just blew me out of the water. I loved it.
I loved this book so much. I even think it maybe had a stronger start than the Empire of the Wolf series, which feels wild to say.
This book is so stunning. It's also incredibly subtle in a way that just feels like a masterpiece to me.
It is just the most wonderful experience of bitter and sweet. I am crying in the club every single time I read one of these books.
He also released another book this year that I really, really enjoyed and almost made my list as well, which is called The Devils. This was incredible again from beginning to end, built on itself so successfully.
So obviously I was quite thrilled when this book absolutely like blew my expectations out of the water. I would change nothing about this book. I was entertained from literally page one.
Robert Jackson Bennett expertly combines the genres of mystery and fantasy within this series. Our main characters give us Sherlock and Watson vibes, and every single installment is a standalone mystery chalk full of so many classic mystery tropes, but it also is infused with one of the most fascinating fantasy worlds I have ever read.
And as a follow-up, I felt like it was even stronger than the first book, The Will of the Many.
And that's why I find The Vanished Bird so impressive because it stays true to its sci-fi roots of having a super intense action-packed sci-fi plotline while still having these beautiful human moments as well.
But simply put, Wild Reverence is one of the most beautiful and romantic books I have read in years. This finally delivered everything I'm looking for in stories like this.
