Happy to report the ending was so good. I'm on the edge of my seat. I feel like the plot pacing of this has been excellent. Marie Lu gave us just enough to hook us, but I still have so many unanswered questions.
cozy reading vlog: a disappointing romantasy, 4 books, & 900 pages!
Good news, I've read over just about 300 pages. Bad news, it's just okay for me. I like some of the ending elements I appreciated, but I feel like the sentiments I have been struggling with since the second half of this book persist, I fear.
I did get to page 150, and this is so unbelievably charming. It's basically like kid spies. Humor, friendship, puzzles, and mysteries to be solved. It's a delightful and whimsical middle grade novel so far, and I'm really liking the audiobook narrator quite a bit.
I liked how the whole thing wrapped up. I feel like the strength of the story are the characters and the connections as I've sort of spoken about previously. The mystery was good. It's not the most mind-boggling, shocking, you know, mystery I've ever read, but I would for sure read more books centering these characters cuz I find them so like endearing with each other.
