this book is about the fact that we as humans are all mortal and we'll all die but the western medicine and especially the American Medical system does not know how to deal with the fact that we are all going to die and specifically what he talks about is that Physicians are taught that they need to cure people that they need to fix problems but you cannot fix mortality

John krakower makes it very clear that this city is actually average statistically they are average for a city their size and the number of rapes that occurred are reported and it is just a masterful look at how we got things like consent and rape and sexual assault
