this part of the book is full of metaphor and proverbial gymnastics well more than usual anyway the stories that we hear are reflections of the true scope of the narrative and kind of a nuanced reward for getting this far and paying attention
The Book Of The New Sun - Full Series Synopsis
so far in this book the events and even the motivations of the characters have mostly made sense yes the terminology and the dream sequences have kept us on our toes but it's probably not the formidable book that most of you were expecting but from this point forward the shadow of the torturer steps up a gear much is unexplained and often inexplicable until later
the middle of the book feels like an odyssey sarian wanders through the mountains encountering one enlightening Fantastical event or character after another
in my opinion although a lot of amazingly weird and wonderful things happen they don't have too much bearing on the plot especially on a first read
now we learn that the author of the account that we've been reading so far is the mental hybrid of at least sarian and thler and who knows who else by the time he becomes autar this is hands down the greatest best executed recontextualization of a story that I've ever encountered
