My Favourite HISTORICAL FANTASY Books of ALL TIME // escapist historical book recommendations!

Babel is a rare gem of a book where it Blends the kind of historical context of the time period with the fantasy element of working silver and the kind of group magicians essentially so absolutely adore this

this book series is absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and beautiful there's a romance at the heart of this absolutely perfect

this book is phenomenal and that it is a retelling of the Nutcracker so it's perfectly wintery perfect for this time of year... it's so poetic and beautiful

as someone who's really interested in that period of History I just absolutely loved the settings and how inspired by that historical time period this book was

what's fascinating about this series in terms of a historical perspective is it's set during a time when the Orthodox Church is really trying to Stamp Out myth and folklore... the setting really blew me away as well

this book is incredible in the sense that it makes you want to go and research that... what's amazing about this series is it's based on a non-western historical time period And I think that is so brilliant

my next favorite books in this genre are part of the same series and that is the winter night trilogy by Catherine Arden so the first book is the bear and the Nightingale the second book is the girl in the tower... the setting really blew me away as well

I absolutely fell in love with the setting... I absolutely loved the mermaid Mr Hancock I would recommend you all go read it if you haven't already
