American GodsNeil Gaiman
Loved it

A very interesting concept I was really drawn to the plot. I love Neil Gaiman's writing style. Really intrigued by the characters but I think with this one just the timing, I fell into a bit of a reading slump.

I tried picking this book up because I thought I was on the tail end of my reading slump and it would help bring me out of it but it didn't end up doing that, sadly. I think it was just taking me a little too long to really get into the story and connect with the characters again. So I ended up putting it down.

I was reading it really small chunks so it was hard to follow along with everything that was happening because of so many different perspectives and a really complex storyline. So I ended up putting this book down when I got to one chapter which is set in the future and it was just quite odd. I wasn't expecting it so I think I was just put off a little bit so I put it down and yeah.

I probably read about half of it and really really struggled and then I tried skimming some but I wasn't able to do it. Eventually I just gave up. I read the last couple of pages and said "No more."

I did not get very far into this one at all. I think I got... yeah 64 pages and then time ran away. Didn't mind of what I read but again, just no real inclination to continue.

I was quite enjoying it for the most part. It was a slower read but I was really fascinated but I just ran out of time with this one... some of these "statistics" that are included... some of them are apparently made up so that puts into question the validity of a lot of the things in it.

This is one that I didn't like as much as I was hoping to. I was expecting to absolutely love this book, but I was a little bit underwhelmed when reading it.

I got through about half of the book but at that point the story was progressing quite slowly so there wasn't too much happening. I wasn't drawn into the characters. I wasn't drawn into the story.
