FAVORITE BOOKS FROM Q3 || October 2021 [CC]

Reviews12

I liked the first book a fair bit, I think physically reading it while on vacation was a little slow for like the mindset I was in. But then I switched to audio book and Lady Trent is one of my favorite characters. She's fantastic... This series has given me so much life.

Assassin's QuestRobin Hobb
Mixed

I'm so glad I finally got into it and got over the hurdle of being burned by assassins quest, because I don't hate Assassin's quest. I think it's a very good book. And I know it's only going to be better for me as I continue realm of the elderlings. But at the time, I was also reading the great hunt. And both of those books are very slow.

Escaping ExodusNicky Drayden
Loved it

I love Nicky Drayden. This is another author, we're just like, the way she puts her thoughts together works really well for me. My only complaints are that the endings are a hair too fast, like just a little bit too fast... I really love this series.

HamnetUnknown
Loved it

Did not expect to really like this one... But I really liked it and reminded me a lot of Madeline Miller's sort of Greek myth retellings, it gave me that type of vibe when I read it. And then you have the last part, which is just an exploration of grief, and how different people go through grief.

IllusionaryZoraida Córdova
Loved it

I gave this five stars like, objectively Is it a five star read? Maybe not, but I read it in two days. And it was everything I wanted to be it was my trope candy.

LaRoseLouise Erdrich
Loved it

Her community work knows no competition in my mind me that's one of the big things I loved about LaRose when I read that a few years ago.

MigrationsUnknown
Loved it

It's just like a great combination of like literary fiction that focuses on atmosphere and sense of place but also like kind of psychological thriller. Maybe? We follow this character Franny... I loved it. I loved the settings were always so strong.

Ship of DestinyRobin Hobb
Loved it

I bought these really nice, hardback editions because I love the liveship traders so much... I love the liveship traders series with my entire being. It is so good. It's everything I love about reading fantasy.

The Boy with FireUnknown
Loved it

I didn't know what I think of it, I was hoping I'd like it. And I loved it. I bought myself a copy... I love the world building. I love the multi POV it was just a really good political sci fantasy.

The Echo WifeSarah Gailey
Loved it

I really loved this book I was staring at me at the library for months... I took off the shelf, try to chapter checked it out, finished it in two days. This was unputdownable for me, I just picked it up and I could not stop reading it.

I loved it and it's a book that like I said, I loved reading while I read it like I read it slowly and it was so like lush isn't the right word but I love just sitting in her prose and reading them. I love the minute I'm in the words being with the people in the place the sense of place and time is so strong and so fantastic.

It's also a story about you know, how you adjust to traumatic relationships... it was very different from upright woman wanted, which I only kind of lived like I thought that was a pretty average novella experience.
