Q1 Recap: BEST, SURPRISING and WORST Books of the Quarter || Aprils 2021 [CC]

Reviews16

It somehow has, I would say 80% of my favorite sci fi tropes, which is everything to me. I love that, we get more point of views, which I think if I had to now say a complaint I had about Memory Called Empire is that we primarily only get one point of view for most of it.

Lonesome DoveLarry McMurtry
Mixed

It wasn't bad. I think I gave it three stars. I just I think it was really long for me, I can kind of pinpoint what I would have gotten rid of.

Mask of MirrorsM. A. Carrick
Loved it

I love all of the characters. It's just the prose and the story, It's the type of fantasy that I can just get sucked into. And that's exactly what happened.

Royal AssassinRobin Hobb
Loved it

I had a good time with Farseer. It was a four star series maybe Royal Assassin was like a four and a half star if I were to like rate it how I rate things now.

Ship of MagicRobin Hobb
Loved it

Such a good book. Like, obviously, mileage varies. I do think that if you don't care about these characters, it's not a very plot heavy like there's plot, but the plot is watch characters overcome their circumstances.

The prey of godsNicky Drayden
Loved it

It wasn't a perfect book. I think we both gave it four stars. But it was a great four star like I was... that week of my life was not a good week, you know, because mental health and I think it was February and who likes February?

Time of ContemptAndrzej Sapkowski
Not a fan

I don't imagine anything could be as bad as Time of Contempt. But I get angrier at Time of Contempt, the further I get because I feel like there was really important world building in Time of Contempt that I still don't understand.
