I really felt like we needed to see more sides to them. They were all just very one-sided characters. All in all, this book just wasn't for me.

Something that I think this book really succeeded at was writing about how emotional this situation is. When it comes to that part of the book, the author nailed it. The other issue that I had with this book was how Otis treated Meg.
This one started out really nicely, and I got super excited because I have a hard time finding books written in verse that I really enjoy. But, then it just took off in a way that I didn't really like.
What I did really like about this book was just following Ryan Dean and seeing how he dealt with the things that happened in book one. I mostly just found myself super frustrated with our main character Ryan Dean. He was so incredibly mean and terrible to his new roommate.
I like that it focused on friendship and how we have this character who's going through this time in his life where he's really lonely and we get to see him come out of that and make friends. And I also thought it was nice to have a story that kind of explores ALS because there's not many books out there that talk about it. Even though it's really sad to read about.
It's pitched as this super spooky story, and it's not scary at all. There are parts of it that are kind of creepy, but let me put emphasis on saying kind of creepy.
This is one where I really liked the first chunk of the book, but the second chunk of the book I just wasn't down for. As a whole, the pacing in this book was really kind of out of whack. It was kind of one of those go-stop, go-stop, go-stop kind of situations.
One of my all-time favorite books is Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley.
because when I first read Winger, I remember just really enjoying it. But, now that I've read this book, I'm kind of like, did I really enjoy Winger as much as I thought I did?
