Reading Like it's the 2000s | Y2K Reading Vlog

I hate to say it, but this one is a DNF from me. Gosh, it's been ages since I've DNF'd a book. But I decided to start The Legacy of Merlin, which was the Charmed book I was pretty sure I'd never read before and I'm still pretty sure I've never read this before. But I'm also never probably going to finish. So, I did get to page 80 and it's a 170-page book.

That's book one officially completed of the Mediator series and of this vlog. And I really enjoyed this. It was just fun. Like it was just a really like fun easy read fast-paced funny like quite what's the word I'm looking for? Action-packed.

Meanwhile, books like Mystic Knoll and Soul of the Bride are two that have really, really stuck in my memory. Like I remember the plots of those super well.

Meanwhile, books like Mystic Knoll and Soul of the Bride are two that have really, really stuck in my memory. Like I remember the plots of those super well. I think Soul of the Bride, anyway, is a Hades and Persephone retelling.

It is one of my favorite pieces of classical literature, and I think for a good reason.

I feel a little bit bad in saying this, but I did end up skimming some of it. I'm not the target audience, and sometimes that doesn't matter. Some books, it doesn't matter who the target audience is. So many people can enjoy it, but I think without having had read it as a kid and having that nostalgic attachment to it, it just didn't really offer me much as an adult.
