I really I like how dark the series is. Like I wouldn't call it horror, but it's definitely darker than a lot of the series on this list, which are quite cutesy and upbeat.

it's one that I really enjoyed reading the first time around, and have since started a reread of it, and I'm realizing that I enjoy it just as much in a reread, if not more
It can be quite like heart-wrenching in moments. I would say it has a lot of like sadness and like grief-orientated plot lines in it, but it's also very beautiful and bolstered by the beauty of found family and friendship and love.
It's just perfect. Like, I just cannot recommend this series more highly, particularly to those who don't necessarily gravitate towards contemporary series like me.
I really enjoyed it because it's also kind of a story of abuse about domestic abuse about manipulative and toxic relationships but in this like superhero world. So I thought this was really fantastic
I love this series. I love the characters. I love their sometimes antagonistic friendships.
It is a perfectly balanced six-volume series. Like, it is so well structured. It feels so well thought through.
It's utterly hilarious. The humor is perfect. There's also a sort of phenomenal representation.
I found this such a heartfelt story, which I thought was very much a queer story. Like this book is about queer love, about queer trauma, about the experiences of coming out and being rejected, and finding love and support and community.
it is one of my like absolute favorites. Like I would maybe call it my favorite if it had an entire like story arc at this point.
You're like, what is going on half the time, but like in a really good way. Like it gives you questions and you want to know more.
And it's brilliant. I love the road trip nature of it. I love each of the protagonists.
