it was actually one of the first queer retellings of a fairy tale i ever read and it had a big impact on me

it's such a fun way to bring so many different fairy tales particularly from different cultures together i love the way that's done

it is such a great exploration of i think a lot of feminist themes and misogyny and sexism especially for teenagers

and it's really nice to see it set in the modern world between england and scotland and it very much explores both the themes of gender fluidity and queer relationships

it's stunning it is beautiful and even if you can't get a hold of the physical collection like write this instance please go on google or search on youtube k tempest reading the poem tyrese because it is incredible

it's really interesting and really well done elliott but debadar is such a gorgeous writer i love everything she does

so if you'd like something that compiles a lot of fairy tales in one place a lot like our traditional collections of grimms and hans christian andersen then this is a fantastic place to go

this book is very hard-hitting but it is also incredibly beautiful

it reads a lot like historical fiction but in the background you always have this sense of vampires are real so there's this little paranormal aspect but really beautifully interesting and a really interesting concept
