10 minutes 38 seconds is about this woman it's a little bit speculative feeling because she has died at the beginning of the book. it's just like that not what I expected it to be at all but it was so good and it was so interesting
My 32 Other Favourite Reads of the Year, Ranked. (Honorable Mentions)

a dangerous collaboration is the fourth book I think in the Veronica Speedwell series and it follows Veronica and stoker who both work in like I can't think of the word right now but like science nature or stuff. I loved it so much that I'm calling it an honorary five and I am going to move it on over an actual five blasphemy
all in her head was not a five and it's just because of like the same thing I said about the Dinosaur book it was just the writing wasn't anything special the book is good it was well organized it covered everything that I hoped it did
brat is about this guy Gabriel who is in this house and he has to get it ready for selling or whatever and he has sick or dead parents. they're very unlikable characters everyone in the book is very unlikable and it feels really pointless but for that it's definitely for me there's just a lot of like slurs and ableist kind of language
this is a non-fiction story Fran akamus it talks about residential schools it talks the horrific things that he experienced that his parents experienced and then also how that impacted him as like a parent in a good way and bad way as a hockey player in a good way and bad way. it was just so well written it was interesting having never heard of this person before
the center got five stars this is about a woman who's introduced to this strange isolated business that makes you learn a language like kind of instantly but you have to be alone and it costs a lot of money. it at the same time felt a lot like sad girl lit Fick but it also had this speculative angle so it was very interesting it was bold it was weird
the employee was a five when I read it's this very short strange sci-fi noela where I don't even know what's happening I don't know how to explain it to you. it's all interviews it's interviews from this kind of collective consciousness of all these employees but they are individuals

the lion women it's about these girls who grow up together in Iran and how they come together how they fall apart how their families are so different. it's very bleak but there's something just so it's the writing the writing is so good
Magnolia Parks was a [4].5 and it's about this really toxic relationship between Magnolia and BJ and their beautiful friendship that they've had for ever and them trying to make each other jealous. I'm moving it on to be known the way the Magnolia and BJ know each other it's just something else
Minor Detail was an extremely difficult read it's probably the most difficult thing that I got through this year. I think the book is really valuable in talking about the past and current day Noba and just giving an insight into what is happening for people who are living under occupation
parable of the SE imagines a world where like climate change has really devastated the planet and people have to survive and it's very difficult the world is a lot more dangerous people are really out for themselves more than ever. it's a Survival Story and there's a lot of horrific imagery that we witness
ripe is about this woman it's kind of like workplace satire where she just works this simple kind of job that shouldn't be taken as seriously as it is like everybody in the company everything is an emergency all the time. she has this physical embodiment it's a little surreal of her of her depression following her around
the god of the woods is also very good it's a literary mystery very like literary about the inner workings of like somebody's mentality it's not so much about the Mysteries but the Mysteries are what's what are driving the narrative. by the end I appreciated them so much for what they were and what they weren't
the hor is by David sodan and it's this story of an older woman who recently lost her husband and she's trying to keep her house and stay keep her life the way it's always been. it gets very gory and very intense and I think it's the closest to like splatter Punk that I've ever given a five star so I had a good time with it's very strange and there's some surprising elements that I really liked
I only give it a 4.5 because I hated the ending so much I thought it was so stupid not so much as like a reveal I loved all the reveals I loved all the reasoning behind things but the ending dragged a little bit with explanation and then it had like this epilog that was just bad
the memory police right is something that I would never reread it was exhausting to read I think it was a very good book and I would recommend it to people who are looking for that type of thing but it was they're both Bleak

the 13th tale is about this kind of biographer she's not super wellknown so she doesn't really understand when she gets the invitation one day to write this super famous author's Memoir. it was so beautifully written and descriptive and an enjoyable read
the trees which is this crime novel about these deaths that keep occurring and there is a dead body found at all of them and it's the same man that's how it's reported. it's very satirical it's dark it's funny it's about Collective anger it makes us sit in violence a lot I just loved everything that it did
the warmth of other Sons is about the America's Great Migration it talks about slavery and it interviews specific people. it reads like Fiction it's so well done I would definitely recommend it more than the rise of the dinosaurs and also I gave it a five
The Magician's assistant is this very Slice of Life small little intimate story this woman grew up working as a magician's assistant and then they eventually got married after decades and she now doesn't he dies and she doesn't feel like she has a lot of worth. I just thought it was really good it was really well written I really enjoyed it
the rise in the fall was so interesting the only reason it didn't get a full five is because it didn't do anything outside of what any other non-fiction has ever done. I learned a lot about the dinosaurs and I think that's so valuable
