Barnaby RudgeCharles Dickens
Loved it

so this has definitely been my favorite classic reread of the year in terms of how much it has shot up in my estimation I suppose I just was absolutely Blown Away by bar R this time

this book is so interesting in so many ways I loved the characterization I loved the dramatic sequences of this book the burglary itself but also there's something else very dramatic that happens at the end of the novel that is so exciting and so well done

it's just a really fun agath Christy the solution and the Mystery is great but also this idea of having like four sloths and four murderers and can they work out who it might have been is just really fun

it's very light and entertaining but it also consists within it a lot of kind of like Ry social commentary and sort of like casual laughing at the Ridiculousness of 19th century courtship rituals and which I really enjoyed

this book to me feels a little bit like David coperfield and Oliver Twist like smushed together with the counter mon Christo in a really fantastic way and I just thought it was great

Ralph the heirAnthony Trollope
Loved it

Ralph the air is one of those flawed young men that Anthony trup writes so well where you just don't know if he's going to be redeema flawed or irredeemably flawed and you're going to have to wait and find out and that's so fun I love this book so much it was just an utter joy to read

The Beth bookSarah Grand
Loved it

the Beth book is just fantastic it's quite a long book but it's really worth it's a really standout novel one of my favorite pieces of new women fiction and just a truly wonderful read

The fire next timeJames Baldwin
Loved it

which I finally read this year and I thought was really incredible like it's one of those books that both simultaneously feels very relevant but also like illustrates a particular point in time in a really interesting way

UntouchableMulk Raj Anand
Loved it

it is a book that is full of social criticism full of interesting observations and interesting characters and it's just really well done and very powerful
