I am also a big fan of Homer's The Odyssey because Greek mythology is something I grew up with. I love Odysseus as a character, the journey he goes on, and I am fascinated by everything and everyone he encounters along the way.

View all videosRyland's character arc in the novel felt more fleshed out and more compelling. This really affected me both times I've read the book and I wish it had the same impact in the film.
the tales of Duncan Egg collected in George R. Martin's A Night of the Seven Kingdoms have a slightly different tone from A Song of Ice and Fire and Fire and Blood. They are lighter. They feel more playful. ... This is easily what I would recommend as an introduction to George R. Martin, just to get a taste of his brilliant writing.
A complex book about revenge, selfishness, classism, racism, anger that persists through the decades, that has consequences on the next generation. A book filled with horrible, twisted, toxic behavior all of which is very unsexy, and yes, some romance and yearning as well.
I'm a huge fan of Frankenstein the novel. And the it's not even about the changes that were made that were kind of nonsensical.
I also enjoyed the book, which had a similar vibe to The Martian, which I love. It had that joke cracking humanity exploring against all odds feel to it.

I read the book, "Mickey7" by Edward Ashton, so I knew what I was getting into. This is something the book actually touches on in a more meaningful way, particularly when it comes to memories and the concept of a soul. It's not a fully developed conversation there either, but there is a lot more to talk about when the novel keeps coming back to the idea of the Ship of Theseus.
I was actually really excited to read this one because I loved bird box also written by Josh malar Minh
this novel stayed with me in a way I did not expect I even ended up changing my rating to a higher one a couple of weeks after I read it which doesn't happen often at all because I realized how much the themes actually resonated with me
it's a classic I loved it for a reason it was one of the first Stephen King novels I've read and it is still one of my favorites
to say that this gritty sci-fi classic blew me away is an understatement I just could not get over this book after I finished it I kept thinking about it I reread part 4 twice
the best crime thriller I read was the whisper men by Alex north ... but it was such a good crime thriller with really great characters
this procedural dramatic thriller swept me off my feet and not only kept me guessing for most of the novel but also made me think about a lot of things I haven't considered before
now this is the book that is a must read despite of how horrifying it is and yes I'm once again holding up a Russian edition of it because it is originally written in Russian
I was actually really excited to read this one because I loved bird box also written by Josh malar Minh but unfortunately inspection was just a whole lot of no for me
this book is a wonderful character study of four siblings that get their exact dates of deaths from a fortune-teller and the novel examines how this knowledge affects their lives and explores the idea of fate of versus freewill
the best short story collection I read was exhalation by Ted Chang I discovered Ted Chang for myself this year he is such a wonderful sci-fi writer
I was ready to love this book but guys this is so derivative ... almost every overdone trope that you can think of in relation to this premise is present in this book
what's great about vengeful is that it is a true companion piece to vicious where the first book was more focused on Victor here we get to find out more about Eli which makes you understand his character a lot better
I do really enjoy reads writing but honestly I just liked Daisy Jones in the sixth a lot more
I am NOT saying that I didn't like this book because I did but I had such absurdly high expectations based on so many people hyping it up ridiculously that when I read it I just felt like it was fine
I also read stories of your life and others by him this year but I think I liked exhalation a little bit more ... those two collections are really good
this is a sequel to vicious and I am a big fan of vicious I loved it I loved the ending
