worst books of 2021 ☕️

i hated it was so boring oh you would think with all this lying and all these crimes happening it would be very exciting but it was god awful it was so boring

malibu rising taylor jenkins read has absolutely disappointed me with this one like to the point where i don't even know if i want to read anything else by her in the future

there's just so many things that made me so incredibly uncomfortable with the story because if it would it would have been like a father-daughter situation i think i would have been fine but the fact that it was like obviously prepping her and like this is romanticized i just wasn't about it i really didn't like it

there's some really graphic scenes like sexually graphic that don't need to be and just were icky and gross and i felt really weird reading them i didn't i didn't enjoy it

overall the story just was like it wasn't good it was i didn't really understand the motivation between things it also kind of wasn't great towards like mental health rep and then the plot twist at the end is one of my least favorite plot twists

it was interesting that i do think the writing was done really well my thing is that overall like i just wasn't overly impressed with the story

they never learn and i really enjoyed this story but something about it just felt really off to me

this is another book that just really went for shock factor like it was gross just for the sake of being gross essentially
