I was a little disappointed in this particular novel because the ending was less satisfying it had several plot conveniences and the romance was very cardboard everything made it a little bit less relatable and more predictable than I wanted it to be

it was a fun entertaining story where the setting was cool but the story itself was somewhat predictable it was lacking in complexity themes and subplots and it used a lot of recycled ideas in the Fantasy Realm

it's a heartwarming fuzzy Adventure it is a combo between science fiction and self-help which I didn't know you could combine I was very surprised by the moral conclusions that this little tiny Novella came to

this is a portal fantasy Novella what's interesting about seanan McGuire as I mentioned before is that she has a lot of technical aspects of her writing that are perfect but for me I can never relate to or care about her characters

Elder RaceAdrian Tchaikovsky
Loved it

this story was a perfect combination of Science and fantasy and any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic this was a great little Novella it was a really fun adventure

Fireheart TigerAliette de Bodard
Not a fan

it felt unfinished it felt like she should have either done the novel or just narrowed it down to a short story I don't think she knew what she was doing with this one and I really really disliked it

Iron WidowXiran Jay Zhao
Loved it

I actually voted for the last graduate to be my number two Rank and iron Widow to be number one because I enjoyed iron Widow so much I highly recommend if you haven't read it and you're down for a y a go check that out

Jade CityFonda Lee
Mixed

I did finally get to Jade city which was very gangster fantasy although gangster fantasy really isn't my jam it doesn't live up to the hype for me like it does for so many other people but I will get around to reading the second and the third books

Project Hail MaryAndy Weir
Loved it

I loved this novel it was absolutely my most recommended novel of the last two years if you're new to science fiction or you just want a good book to read it is everything I love about science fiction

this was an inclusive Chinese fantasy this novel was such a fun Coming of Age novel there's only a little bit of magic in it and it uses that Trope that I love which is a girl dressing up and pretending to be a boy to get by in society in kind of a new and unique way I really enjoyed this novel

this book very distinctly lacked a plot to pull me through the rest of the book it made me a little upset that she called it book number four when she didn't use any of the characters from the previous several books that we all know and love

The Last GraduateNaomi Novik
Loved it

the last graduate is a second in a series that I had a really good time with I'm actually currently reading the third and final book in that trilogy but of all of these I actually voted for the last graduate to be my number two Rank

The family tradeCharles Stross
Not a fan

I started the first book of The Merchant princes by Charles Strauss called The Family Trade I didn't really get into it I don't think I was in the right mindset so I ended up giving it a number three vote because I didn't even finish the first book

I did get around to reading the book one called to like the lightning this book blew me away it was so complex and so in-depth and so unique I have no ever read anything like it
