if you like a widescreen epic Space Opera and if relentlessly Alien aliens well-drawn characters a complex deep history breathtaking close qu tobattle scenes alien relics a flawed but interesting protagonist and a lush Prostyle float your boat then these are definitely the books for you
I found yarra's writing to be taught as a drum and the story moves along quite quickly and is done in under 200 pages it's a highly satisfying read from a quality point of view whilst being extremely Bleak in the process
I really love this book everything about it if you're ready for an unusual compelling ride I thoroughly recommend hop and it's the only book that I gave a full 10 out of 10 in 2024
I really loved how alien they were in terms of their ways of thinking their use of language their attitude to the humans who are mere animals to them and their casual cruelty
I could maybe have done with a bit less of Lee sighing and reflecting on her childhood and I thought that the ending was maybe a little bit unsatisfying but not fatally so and it certainly didn't negate what had gone before which I thought was really beautifully written
