Bring the JubileeWard Moore
Loved it

I really enjoyed visiting this world and I wonder how it would compare to another alternative history Paine by Keith Roberts. bring the Jubilee was a very nice planetary pleasure a solid 7 out of 10.

Cosmic kaleidoscopeBob Shaw
Loved it

this is a short Story collection there are some ckers in this collection and it's really well written. I give the book overall Cosmic collidoscope a 7 and a half out of 10 putting it somewhere between a planetary pleasure and a stellar Splendor.

Dark EdenChris Beckett
Loved it

I loved it Eden is a thoroughly alien world and I think that Becket did a great job extrapolating forward from the original two colonists. it's a very strong eight and a half out of 10 Stella Splendor with definite hints of Galactic gem.

Dogs of WarAdrian Tchaikovsky
Loved it

I really enjoyed the interplay between the amped Up Animals particularly between Rex the seven foot dog of the piece and honey and even bigger even smarter bear. I recommend Dogs of War as a solid 7 and a half out of 10.

it is a good book and a good companion to shelter a good 7 and a half out of 10. whilst it has its share of peril and dark goings on in tone and outcome it would be hard to think of a more opposite book than a closed and common orbit.

Halcyon driftBrian Stableford
Loved it

it was a swift read and I enjoyed this one. I think it's a great introduction to the series of six books and I'll definitely be reading the next one soon 7 out of 10.

Look to windwardIain M. Banks
Loved it

look to Winwood is fundamentally a tale of grief of Revenge and ultimately Redemption and there are wheels within Wheels. this was a reread for me but really I had remembered very little of the plot and it was nice to be back in the culture it's very good another Stellar Splendor.

this is the third and final episode of the drausemergency Trilogy. I did enjoy being back in this universe but like I say I enjoyed it less than I thought I would. 6 and 1 half out of 10 for machine Vendetta.

Tau ZeroPoul Anderson
Loved it

there's a good dose of humans as well with several of the crew having well- drawn characters I enjoyed this aspect of the book at least as much as the geeky physics Parts another planetary pleaser.

I didn't find this an easy read Harrison's Pros was maybe a bit too clever for me a bit Rich. I will definitely reread this book at some point in the future I think I would get more out of it second time but for the first go around I give this a modest mid-table 6 and a half out of 10.
