I thought it was super fun. Like, it's not the best historical romance ever, but I thought the time travel was really fun. On reread I didn't love it as much as when I started it because I think I read it when I hadn't read a bunch of historical romances.
October Reading Wrap Up ๐๐ Fantasy Romance and Cozy Fall Books
I loved this. Give me a hero who like quietly pines for the heroine any day. Their chemistry was amazing. The hero just was obsessed with her and I loved that. Five stars. This was so good.
The heroine inherits a haunted house from her estranged uncle that she didn't know existed. I just had so much fun reading this. It was the perfect spooky season book, and it's the first paranormal I've read by Nora, like fully paranormal, where the suspense was with the paranormal, and I actually really liked it.
I went into this thinking I was going to be wholly obsessed with it and I did really enjoy it. It definitely didn't feel like the magic system and like world was built up that big. I do think it was a little too insta-love for my taste, and I really wanted more out of this romance.
It was good. It was cute. I really liked it. It's definitely very slower-paced plot, and I would have liked a little bit more of like the cozy bookstore vibes in here, but it was really fun, very perfect to read in fall, so I still gave it three and a half stars.
I am giving this one three stars, and I'm kind of grappling between giving it lower. The writing is very simple, and it's so much telling us instead of showing us. It was just all right for me.
