My Favourite Books of 2021

Reviews16

I love this, I read this in one sitting, which I think really works because this novel is told across the course of about 18 hours and you never leave the character's mind.

CarryToni Jensen
Loved it

This is absolutely brilliant. This has such a blend of themes in it, and it's gonna make it sound like there's too much when i describe it, but it's really not too much, it's all perfect.

I love the art style, I really like the use of colour, so it's very much like exactly what you see on the cover it's sort of pale washed pinks and blues and sort of a really doodly style I thought it was brilliant.

Fault LinesEmily Itami
Loved it

Now I hate this cover but I really loved this book. This again is a fairly quiet novel and it's not about anything super surprising but I just really enjoyed the writing style.

Sitting PrettyRebekah Taussig
Loved it

This is narrated by the author and she does a really amazing job I've heard so many people talk about this last year because it is such a brilliant memoir and i really recommend it.

The High HouseJessie Greengrass
Loved it

I really love this and I need to go back and read the author's two previous books because i thought this was phenomenal, and I read this quite early in the year, and it's really stuck with me.

At points I thought it was a little bit overwrought in the writing style, there was probably like five instances throughout the whole book and I was like, bit too much. But other than that I just really enjoyed it and very detailed descriptions you can sort of see everything which is something I really appreciate.

White IvySusie Yang
Loved it

I had to really battle with what i thought was the best novel I read in 2021 because you know, I read some really great novels and yeah, I think it is white ivy. I just love this book.

Win Me SomethingKyle Lucia Wu
Loved it

I just really enjoyed it and I thought it captured that age when everyone's expecting you to make these choices and you don't necessarily feel ready, I thought it captured that really well.
