this one was fantastic this is another one of our book club picks so good so good talked about it my favorite books of the year video so i'm trying not to be like super repetitive of those videos but this one was really fun
tier ranking every book I read in 2020
- Ranking · 43 books
these books are ridiculous and funny and smutty and steamy and all of the good things with vampires in them highly recommend i feel like i've talked about them a ton this year so i'll spare you but a favorite of mine for this year
i read one of robin harding's books the previous year called the arrangement which i love and i wholeheartedly suggest that book all the time it's one of my favorites
this one objectively was perfectly good for what it is it's a survival story this girl gets stranded in the woods and has to survive on her own but i don't know like i said it's good for what it is if you like survival stories i'm sure you'll really like this it's a really short book and it's just like a snapshot of this girl surviving in the woods
one of my favorites of this year for sure i don't know if it's a favorite of all time but definitely a favorite of this year very cutesy romance with some deeper like heavier themes and subject matter than you would expect from the title on the cover it's following two writers who both have writer's block they're like enemies from college and then they end up getting into a romance so it was just really cute i really like this one
it's about being a creative person and following that kind of career path and it just really gives me so much hope when i read it and just makes me feel good it's like a little pep talk every time i read it i enjoy it more every time i read it i get something new out of it
i'm absolutely loving it i'm devouring it's exactly what i've been in the mood for yeah so we're gonna guess that it's gonna be an all-time fave i'm hoping it will be i really like it so far
obviously they're an all-time favorite of mine hence the reread so honestly with this reread i'm not loving them as much as i loved them the first time around but i still consider the series to be an all-time favorite
this is the serial that i was talking about so i read the first four parts and this one's actually going to go into all-time faves this is a paranormal romance our main character is a vampire princess who basically gets cast out by her family and has to learn how to survive and i really enjoyed this cereal
this one just really didn't click with me and it was one of my least favorite things that i read this year i just found it really boring and i couldn't connect to any of the characters and i don't really know why i just wasn't a big fan of it
i really hated this and this was our book club pick for november but it was like i loved to hate it kind of thing like it was very entertaining and i really liked the book for like the first three fourths of it i wasn't a really big fan of the end and that's kind of what ruined it for me
this is the sequel to girls with sharp sticks which was one of my favorite books of last year
i'm gonna put in could have passed this is the sequel to girls with sharp sticks which was one of my favorite books of last year the sequels have been letting me down this year yeah could have passed one of my least favorite books that i read this year very disappointing
as far as thrillers go i found it really formulaic and predictable and i've read thrillers that are much better than this one and i just found it really disappointing very predictable
very disappointing because i picked this up because i read one of robin harding's books the previous year called the arrangement which i love and i wholeheartedly suggest that book all the time it's one of my favorites she writes adult thrillers and this one was just so not good compared to the arrangement i found it so bland and so like anti-climatic like there's no like climax in the book like the book is building and building and building and then nothing happens so it was pretty disappointing
i did really like this one i tend to really like riley sager's books he also writes adult thrillers this one was a spooky thriller which is kind of my perfect genre of choice really good i really enjoyed this one flew through it
this is going straight to the yikes category for me by far one of my least favorite books that i've read this year unfortunately i read it after i made my worst books of the year video so i didn't have a chance to include it in that but i wasn't expecting to dislike it this much it was so cringy
another lindsay sands book i think this is the second one love bites we follow different characters in this one as well but i really like that one so favorite saves 2020
i honestly didn't like anything about this one i feel like workplace romances maybe i don't know this girl basically hires one of her friends who's a headhunter to try and find her a husband and in the meantime he's giving her like sex lessons and i found this one kind of cringy i'm not gonna lie i'm very formulaic so it just wasn't for me
something that i flew through very smutty very steamy and i just personally really like sierra simone's writing style so it was a good time i'm not gonna lie it's not a new like all-time favorite but it was a good time
i found this to be a super helpful craft book if you're also writing a romance novel i found this to be super helpful i highly recommend
this was actually just like a freebie that i got of hers that was like a weird prequel in between two series so i don't i picked it up because it was a freebie not realizing like where it sat in this universe so it was kind of a random thing for me to read but it was fine it was pretty good nothing super memorable for me
i'm just gonna put in pretty good again not really into the fantasy this year so this was just fine for me probably won't read the second book based on what i've heard about it
we're going to put both blood promise and shadow kissed into all-time faves because there's nowhere else where they could go
i think i'm gonna put it in all time faves i don't know what it was about this third book i loved it so much the way this series works is we follow a different member of the family and each one's a vampire and so this one we're following this like 600 year old vampire he's a writer he's like a recluse he never leaves his house he doesn't want to deal with people and i just found his character so funny
i did really like this one it's a young adult fantasy i thought it was great for what it was i just discovered this year that i don't like fantasy anymore very much
this was the one of the four that i read this year that i didn't really like so we're gonna put it in could have passed just because i didn't really find the subject matter that interesting i think they were like planning a wedding and it was the like everything goes wrong kind of plot lines which if you know me at all is like everything i hate in a book
all time faves loved this book so much probably one of the most memorable books that i read this year was fantastic
it was fine i expected a lot more i expected this to be something that i really loved and i just never got super invested in the characters and it wasn't super memorable for me it wasn't really bad i wouldn't not recommend it and other people have loved it a lot more than i did but for me it was just kind of forgettable
was an all-time favorite for me this is a young adult contemporary about a girl who was adopted and her birth mom was a teenager when she gave birth to her so we're like switching off between their two stories and i just found this really wholesome and touching and i really loved this one
i absolutely loved this book it was fantastic you have to read it at some point in your life by far my favorite book from this author
is going to go in yikes for me by libba bray one of no probably this one gets the cake for my least favorite or most disappointing book of the year which is really unfortunate because this is the final book in the diviners series which is one of my all-time favorite series and this conclusion was not it for me super boring super disappointing
this one nothing like technically was wrong with it i feel like i've just become a lot more critical of thrillers the more that i've read of them when they just don't really stand out to me so this one again i found just like really forgettable formulaic and i don't know just like underwhelming
is going into all-time favorites this is one of my favorite adult thrillers that i read this year very good very hard to read very upsetting if you are triggered at all by rape content would not recommend this book but one of my favorites that i read this year 5 out of 5 stars
this was just super disappointing it's another adult thriller i was hoping it was going to be spookier and described in a way that made me made it seem like it was going to be like part thriller like part horror and i just didn't find it very scary or very spooky at all but the beginning half was really spooky and really good it just took a turn halfway through
this one was fine this is a young adult it's kind of okay the problem with this one is the marketing made it sound like it was going to be this like exciting thriller and it's just a very slow character-driven contemporary with like a twist so i think i went in with misguided expectations and it was just kind of boring for me
i read one of ruth ware's other books last year on the turn of the key and that was one of my favorite books that i read last year
her book the female of the species is one of my all-time favorites
i had really high expectations for this one this is like a young adult sci-fi romance between a human and an alien and they bond over their love of music and i just found it to be really overly long and kind of boring
i really did like i don't know if it's like a favorite of mine though it was pitched as the bachelorette in space and i had a really fun time with it definitely glad that i read it flew through it
was really good i'm gonna put that in saved 2020 definitely a favorite of this year this is another young adult contemporary man it's been so long since i've read this one it was like a girl was getting abused by her boyfriend in high school and she went to the principal for help and then basically word spread and the whole school was really divided on whether or not to believe her or her boyfriend who's like the golden child of the school i just thought it was really smart social commentary and sad but a good book
i absolutely loved saved 2020 this one is about a teen mom her senior year of high school she wants to be a chef super heartwarming super fun i listen to an on audi book would recommend this one honestly
we'll put that in pretty good glad that i read it i really like megan she is a youtuber she runs one of my favorite podcasts called don't blame me so i just really like her as a person so it was interesting to read her memoir but not like a favorite book of mine but definitely worthwhile to read if you like her personally
