WORST BOOKS OF 2022

Reviews7

I always struggled with A Little Life. I ended up DNFing it and just spoiling myself for that book, but I wanted to give this author another chance because I really liked the writing style in A Little Life.

First up, I really liked the writing style, and I definitely want to pick up more by this author in the future and give them another try, give them another chance. And my other positive is that the magic bits that we did get, I was so enchanted by.

The Atlas SixOlivie Blake
Mixed

First off, I'm going to say some positives because I like to balance things out here. There were some things in this that I did like. First up, I liked the vibes. I was down hard for the vibes. I was into it. Aesthetic on point.

The Children's HomeUnknown
Mixed

It is more of a novella, so it kind of makes sense that it's a little bit on the underdeveloped side, but I just feel like it did not reach its potential. There was potential there, especially in the beginning parts.

The MaidensUnknown
Not a fan

One is that the main character annoyed me to no end. Like, she was so annoying. She is a know-it-all to a T, and I just can't stand people like that in general in real life.

The Midnight LibraryMatt Haig
Not a fan

For me, I felt like this is a situation where our main character was just like suddenly cured of their depression, and it just kind of perpetuated this like false idea that all you have to do to get over your depression is just change your mindset, and you'll be fixed.

I did really love the writing style of this story. I feel like this author is very talented when it comes to the tone of her writing. It just kind of fueled with like raw emotions and feelings, and it just feels very real.
