My Favourite Books of 2018 | Honourable Mentions

Reviews9

it's a five-star read for me but it wasn't one of those books that has stuck to my mind and therefore it's not on my absolute top favorite list but definitely a great story which takes place in a Grand Hotel in Moscow. You would think that this setting would make this book boring because it doesn't take you anywhere but it does, it's a really great and engrossing story and I was impressed.

I actually only gave this book three stars back in the days when I read it but it's one of those novels that grows on you and since then I've been thinking back on it and feeling much more grateful about the story. It's a shocker as well even though it's also very slow going, as you can hear it's a very mixed bag of things.

Night WatchSarah Waters
Loved it

basically I love it because it tells a story backwards it starts in 1947 in London and we follow different characters and then all of a sudden we jump back three years so that we are in the middle of the war... it's just a really great story

The Great AloneKristin Hannah
Loved it

this book was really great because it's a great story about nature it's set in Alaska... I really like this book I was very impressed I think I gave it a four and a half out of five stars

I thought that it was a great read it was a very long read and then I realized towards the end that this is just book 1... it's a grand story that takes you on such a journey and I really loved it for that

parts of the story are told from the cat's perspective which were really funny parts... it was a sad story but it was also funny and just engrossing and all those words so I really loved this book

it's a classic and it's just so great I like how this trilogy plays with so many grand themes revenge love doubt depth even and it's just a great story about two men who are best friends but whose lives kind of grow apart

I like how the story won my heart and it made me kind of look forward to growing old... it's just a really funny humorous heartwarming story and I really liked it so I think it deserves a spot on my list.

I really love this book I like how it gives you a proper introduction into what it's like to hike for several months and for several kilometers and it's also a personal account on this woman's life. It wasn't a favorite book of all time because I did feel like she was making some life decisions that I did not agree with... but all in all a great book that I definitely do recommend.
